NARFA CZE (National Radio Frequency Agency Czech Republic) was established February 23, 1999 and has since carried out in accordance with the Rules of NATO regarding the use and management of the radio frequency spectrum, and in accordance with the Organizational Regulations of the Ministry of Defence following main tasks:

  • Development of a strategic national military spectrum management and usage plan.

  • Co-ordination of national military frequency use including visiting and stationed forces.

  • Co-ordination as required with national civil spectrum regulator.

  • Co-ordination of cross-border requirements (either through national civil spectrum regulator or direct with cross-border SMO, NARFA, MOD or CHOD) counterparts in frequency and spectrum management.

  • Overseeing and harmonisation the national frequency and spectrum management and usage plan among the component military units of the nation.

  • Administration of the NATO spectrum supportability process.

  • All other general roles and responsibilities of a NATO SMO identified earlier in this chapter.

NARFA CZE (Department of frequency spectrum management) is an organizational unit of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic operating in the structure of the Agency of Communication and Information Systems.
